I made a post about a year ago about two family heirlooms from my fiancé’s family that I was getting re-set for my engagement. The jeweler I brought them to said they were “stolen” and they are gone. I thankfully have other pieces that my family has donated to us but I’m absolutely devastated.

This is a whole big thing, I filed a police report, apparently this has happened to dozens of people and this will likely be a long haul in court.

The first photo is of the new rings from my family and the rings in the second photo are the “stolen” ones.

We plan on getting them appraised and insured before giving them to ANYONE. I also now need someone to try and appraise the old ones just from a picture (for court) because the last appraisal was 20 years ago.

A whole mess. I now have my paternal grandmother’s rings and they are even better than the previous ones, but we are obviously still so heartbroken.

I think it must be debts or something

[not loaded or deleted]

Yeah this was my plan, we’ll see hat they said

[not loaded or deleted]

Yeah the cops said it was filed, but they believe he was in on it. Insurance has denied his claim, too, so.

It’s just that our history with him is unblemished, and he’s around 65-ish. I’ve also heard that his father does have Alzheimer’s. But anything is possible.

This is my deceased grandmother’s ring it is not soldered together, it is separate pieces. We are also not thieves.? I’m not sure how you got that from my post, but the ring was stolen from his shop, not by us. I put it in quotes because the current theory is that it is an inside job, meaning someone from the jewelers.

Edit: it is also a size 5, weirdo

[not loaded or deleted]

The running theory is that he himself is the person stealing the pieces

He did make a police report, but he also apparently did this a few years ago too :/ report and all.

You’re right, I responded irrationally to the use of the word junkie

[not loaded or deleted]

I actually feel really bad, I don’t know why 😂

[not loaded or deleted]

Weird assumption, and no.

Edit: this was a weird comment, I reacted harshly to the use of the word junkie, my bad

Oh 100% it is grand larceny at this point. In my case alone he’s stolen anywhere from $5k-$10k based on inflation on the appraisal.

This is the third report he has made in a decade. He also did not contact anyone about their lost belongings after this robbery. He also has been defrauding people for multiple years now on a very consistent basis. It’s not legit.

[not loaded or deleted]

Oh 100% I am not backing down. He has defrauded old ladies and pregnant women, I am a 25 year old grad student with nothing but time right now, he will feel the wrath lol

[not loaded or deleted]

Maybe 65 y/o

The insurance claim was denied. He was offering to just basically do a trade and I said absolutely not, I want my money.

[not loaded or deleted]

He did. The claim was denied

I’m very fortunate that my dad is a lawyer and has many connections across the state, I plan on using my resources to try and make sure everyone gets what they deserve

[not loaded or deleted]

HAHAHAHA hooha 😂

There actually was CCTV, it was sent to the police, they just don’t believe the robbery itself was legitimate

[not loaded or deleted]

I didn’t know until I found out more information. I now don’t believe that, obviously

Yes, I am in grad school, my internship is doing therapy
