I’m wondering if anyone could tell me more information about my most prized possession - my late grandmother’s wedding ring.
A couple of months ago, I brought it to a jeweler who informed me, after testing, that it is white gold (did not mention the karat) and diamond. I was quite confused because I searched all over the ring with a jewelers loupe and couldn’t find a single marking on it.
My late grandmother married my late grandfather in 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland, and unfortunately the only people I could ask for more information on this ring have passed away.
I’m wondering a few things:
What style is this considered? It looks like a Laurel wreath with cut-outs between the design elements. Is it considered Art Deco style?
What date range do you think this piece is from? Would the mid-late 1950s make sense?
Is there any way to determine a maker without a marking?
Has anyone seen a ring like this online?
Any other information would be greatly appreciated!
