So I’m wanting to do a ATF fluid change/ATF service on my 2010 VW Jetta 2.5 with the Aisin 09G transmission. I have the fluid, I have the VAG knock off fill tool for the drain plug hole, but I still haven’t been able to get a transmission fluid temp to read with torque pro. I have tried adding custom PID’s using other models/years of VW coding that others have posted on forums that supposedly work with their cars to read real-time transmission temp. So my question is: has anyone been able to successfully use Torque pro to read their real time transmission fluid temp on a MKV jetta? If so can you share how?
Alternatively, has anyone used OBDEleven to check real time ATF fluid temp on their MKV jetta (or any newer model without a DSG?) If so, did it require using any credits for adding new apps/premade coding on the OBDEleven app? Or was it already integrated into the OBDEleven software?
I would love to fork over the 300$ for VCDS and a Ross-tech cable but that’s not feasible right now, but 100$ for the OBDEleven seems much more digestible (plus Ross tech has sooooo many more intricate features that I don’t really need to use so it seems like a waste). Is there an alternative option to the two I’ve discussed (other than using a non contact IR thermometer on the pan, Because as others have had success with that it’s still somewhat of a cost to buy one of those thermometers and that’s damn near all I’d use it for. At least with some OBD software I can use it for other things. Not to mention, the aluminum pan is basically going to function like a heat sink so the pan’s temp is not going to be the actual fluid temp).
Any help would be appreciated. I’m not going to take it to the Stealership and get ripped off.
