It’s a 2014 Jetta with 150k miles. I’m having the struts replaced because my strut mount bearing is making clunking noises when turning and my car doesn’t ride good overall, even though the oem made in mexico Sachs struts are bone dry. Was going to do them myself initially but it looks like pretty much the entire front end has to come out to do the fronts. I’m having my mechanic do them with this kit: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-strut-kit-sachs-kit-523403
My question is, has anyone used this kit? Any reviews? I was initially going to use quick struts (Monroe from rock auto, KYB available only at the parts store) if i was going to do it myself.
What else should i order and have changed as my mechanic’s going to pretty much already be in there and assembling everything back together?
How important is it to replace sway bars too?
I’m planning on getting the rears later and doing them myself once the weather let’s me, or should i have the rears changed too while the car’s already in the shop?
