Okay, some of you might remember me. I have a 2017 SE TDI Jetta. It has two problems. The first is that it stops without warning as if someone cut the power. The lights remain but engine just shuts off with no noise. The battery and alternator are fine, so this is a real mystery.
The second is while driving the car will jerk, sometime violently. The EPC light occasionally comes on when it happens. And in case you’re curious, it does not throw a single code when either of these things happen. They tried changing the speed sensor but it did nothing.
Since there is no code, two mechanics so far have thrown their hands. What both said is that all they can do is simply start taking the engine apart and troubleshoot. I do t have the thousands that this requires of course.
What I need is some ideas as to what’s going on and suggestions for possible solutions as well as areas to look at. I’d like to have a list to give the mechanics where to look.
At any rate, that’s my situation. Any help or ideas would be awesome. Thanks, and Happy Holidays!
