Obviously we all remember where we were when Snooki was punched. This was the moment when the cast became protective of snickers-snookers-snooki, and the rest is history.
But I don't remember ever reading about the aftermath of the attack or even who did it.
So as a little Throwback Thursday, let's look back at the event and what happened after.
Snooki believed that Brad Ferro was stealing her and the rest of crew's drink. She confronted him, and Brad responded by attacking her. According to his father, Brad did this because he was drunk, and because it was self defence against the 4'8 (not counting her hair height) meatball.
He pled guilty to 1 charge of simple assault, paid a $500 fine, and was on probation for 6 months.
Brad was fired from his job when the episode aired in December 2009.
While Snooki was charging $10,000 for meet and greets, Brad had to move in with grandmother because his employment insurance ran out.
He eventually joined the army due to his reputation.
Brad's father believes that the Jersey Shore cast owes it's success to his son, and that they all owe Brad.
Snooki has since reflected on this event.
In 2013, she told Oprah that the whole ordeal was scary, but "It should be out there. Everyone should know that it can happen." She acknowledged that it was a positive that the event made the cast closer.
When asked what she would say to Brad if she saw him, Snook said:
"I don't know! I never really thought about it — just like, 'Dude, why would you do that?' You know, like obviously he was blacked out and didn't know what he was doing, but I mean — s--t like that happens at bars sometimes. So I guess I would say, 'I forgive you, but that really hurt!'"
TL;DR: I've always wondered what the aftermath of the infamous punching scene.
