Post Body

I've been wanting to set up a media server using Jellyfin, my main aim is to store H264, H265, MKV and some Jpeg's.

I'll bullet point my questions so hopefully it will be easier for those to answer:

  1. Hardware wise, I was looking at a Haswell based system maybe an i5 4440 or Xeon E3-1230 v3 along the lines of (4c/4T or (4c/8t), 8gb or ram and some storage. Depending on the CPU a Nvidia K series Quadro card as well. Would this be sufficient enough to some 1080p content?
  2. Operating system, I was thinking something Debian based like Pop OS or if I used Arch then EndeavourOS for the ease of installation?
  3. Due to the location, I'm going to have to use Wifi, I do get a solid 300 down and 60 up, in its location, would this be ok?
  4. In my house, all my TV's either use a Roku box, or a Chromecast, would these be fine to connect?

Sorry I've never done anything like this so completely new, my goal is for the family to view the content where ever they are in the house.
