My Steam installation of Jedi Academy is B R O K E

The problems started out recently and for almost no reason, but suddenly, the Menu screen is unbearably lagged to the point that I can't even play the game, and the animation of the space battle isn't loading at all. Whenever I did click the load game icon, the loading screen takes exponentially longer. I have yet to successfully load the game since.
UPDATE: I was able to load a game after a long while and the gameplay was fine FPS and all.
