When I got my braces put on, my ortho told me it would be 10-12 months until I was ready for surgery, and that he would know about 6 months in advance roughly when surgery would be. I'm 6 months in, and he keeps telling me how ahead of schedule things are going, but refuses to say anything concrete like "surgery will probably be in November." I'm asking that directly because I need to plan to take off work, plan my life, I'm training for a marathon in 5 months!! etc., and am just getting no response other than "keep doing what you're doing!"
Have other people had this experience or is my orthodontist not the best with this?
I have essentially put my life on hold to stay in this city working this specific job for 2 years to get this surgery taken care of, and I'm losing confidence in my ortho/starting to consider just moving anyways because I'm not happy with how this uncertainty is being handled.
Ugh, I hate to hear it's been a hot mess for you. It's kind of wild how we're just along for the ride. A whole nother year is PAINFUL. I bet you're excited?

I totally agree and the thing is, I'm not asking for it to happen sooner, I just want to know ballpark like what month so I can live my life 😅
When did you know you'd be having surgery this June? And what timeline did they quote you originally?
