Tips for Nerve Re-Growth mandibular and maxillary osteotomy?

So I just got jaw surgery, I'm 3 weeks out and my biggest fear is permanent nerve damage, particularly on the nerves that run along the lower jaw, which for this surgery they had to cut clear through. I'm slowly gaining sensation in my nose, upper lip, pallet etc. which is a really good feeling but my lower lip and entire chin is 0 feeling at all, no pins and needles or anything.

It struck me just how numb the area is when i drank from a water fountain or when i used an inanimate object on the lower part of my face (like a beard brush) in these scenarios I don't have sensory feed back confusing me from my tongue or fingers and can clearly feel just how gone it is. It is quite literally ZERO sensation, which they told me is expected and can sometimes take up to a year to fully heal but still is an unsettling feeling. I'm just wondering is there's any precautions or maybe some natural or non-natural remedies that are good for nerve regrowth. I just want to do as much as I can to promote that nerve healing itself correctly. Any thoughts?
