I am just about 6-weeks post surgery (bottom and top) and Iâm supposed to be getting my splint and screws and wires removed Friday morning. At this stage, I should be cleared to move onto a âsoft foodsâ diet. Iâm very much looking forward to no longer being on liquidsâmy diet has consisted primarily of protein shakes, a few smoothies and purĂ©ed soups, yogurt, and cottage cheese (small curd with no chewing). I asked my doctor what a soft foods diet consists of and was told that scrambled eggs, banana, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, some soft fish, etc. would be fineâbut what else is considered a soft food? Iâm having a really hard time conceptualizing it and understanding what I can and canât eat.
