I'm in the process of developing a personal WordPress theme. I decided to use the HTML5 Blank theme as a starting point to prevent unnecessary bloat. The theme is not responsive out-of-the-box, so I'll need to create something myself, but I'm not sure where to start. First off, I'm not extremely experienced in JavaScript. I know the basics, but I haven't started learning about DOM manipulation yet. I do know HTML/CSS, though. I'm looking for a mobile navigation similar to www.thesimpledollar.com.
I don't mind spending the time to learn what I need to do to hand roll a mobile-friendly navigation, but I'm not sure where to find the best resource for learning nav-specific JavaScript things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
