More Efficient way of downcasting a variable in a 2D array?

So basically I have this switch statement which checks the id of the variable inside the 2D array, and sets it directly. I know my explaining is terrible but the code explains everything pretty simply. Is there an even more efficient way to do this? I researched and found that downcasting is basically impossible in Java so maybe this is my only option, however when I add more and more tiles I wouldn't want to keep adding another case.
