Shohei Ohtani Coverage

I live and work in Tokyo. In my free time, I watch TV sometimes and have noticed the extensive coverage of Ohtani. I love sports but covering Ohtani this much is way overboard. Last week, a bill allowing joint custody after divorce passed the lower house but this news which will greatly affect society was covered once for like a minute. Is it only me who thinks media here airs Ohtani way too much??
