Knife from a friend

A friend sold me a bundle of knives, and this knife was one of them. He says it’s differentially tempered. It is probably one of the most well balanced and sharpest knives I’ve ever held. I want to own more like it, but I don’t know anything about how to start that process. Can anyone help?
