I was wondering if anyone else had heard any information on this? Two of my Interac ALT friends were informed that their contracts had been cut Friday night, immediately after news of this whole political donation fiasco with Interac's former president and getting a pseudo-sketchy email from Interac roughly saying "Don't worry, we're not doing anything illegal". They're both around Fukushima City and working under completely different schools, so it shouldn't be related to budget or performance. I heard secondhand that other ALT contracts had been cut too, but I was wondering if this was just the area around Fukushima city, Fukushima Prefecture or perhaps just a case by case basis per Board of Education. Also, the aforementioned friends still technically have jobs through to the end of their contract. They're just being assigned to other schools for the time being.
EDIT: Someone PM'ed me asking if I could generalize this some more, so I'm editing this with emphasis to note the changes.
