Hey /r/Japan,
My question is: what are some of the best things to do in Japan this time of year? I get to Japan on Sunday, and have one week to get from Narita to Hiroshima, and can go anywhere at all during this week (with the use of the Japan rail pass). Where do you think I should go? What things should I see? What should I do? Also: any Redditors out there want to do any meetups, grab a drink or something? Also, I'll probably be hostel hopping, any suggestions on great ones that are worth a stay?
Quick background: I've been to Japan 3 separate times in the past 4 years (1 month in Sapporo, 3 months in Sapporo, and then 2 weeks in Hiroshima) and have a basic speaking / reading ability (enough to hold my own in simple conversations). Places I've visited include: Tokyo area, Sapporo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Tokushima. In each place, I have only scratched the surface so I'm definitely willing to revisit any place at all with hopes of finding new things too. I was thinking maybe this would be a good time to visit Kyushu, but I don't know what are the best places there.
Anyways, any suggestions or opinions or anything are appreciated!
