It took this company 3 fucking years to implement such a basic feature like folders. It's no surprise anyone with half a brain would want to jailbreak and actually get some use and functionality out of their phone.

Yeah for iPads. I’m referring to iOS not iPadOS.
Even so, it’s taken 12 years for iPads to get a simple weather app and there’s still no calculator app. It’s complete nonsense.

You're telling me. It honestly blows my mind to see year after year just how incredibly slow they are to make any meaningful software changes.
I would not be the least bit surprised if they just wait to release certain "big" changes just so it looks like the company is making improvements to the software. Because when you strip away all of the no brainer features that the company could have implemented years ago you can truly see just how little the software changes from year to year. And we are talking about one of the biggest companies in the world with large teams supposedly working on this software for an entire year. How anyone can call this company's iOS operating system innovative is beyond me.
I can't even begin to list all the relatively simple yet very useful features they have taken ages to add. It's just beyond pathetic. These are ALL features other very popular apps (and the jailbreak community) have had for years and years. Yet you mean to tell me it takes some of the smartest minds in the US if not world 3 years to offer up the simplest most rudimentary form of this feature?
Here's just a super small list of things Apple has taken ages to include:
SharePlay (2021): I could watch movies with my friends on the (Xbox) 360 since 2009...That's fucking 12 years ago bro are you kidding me?
Widgets (2020): Nothing remotely new. PCs, Androids, Consoles, shit even Macs have had this forever.
Customizable Lock screen (2022): In typically Apple fashion even with this long a wait the customization options are very few.
PiP (2021)
-Ridiculously easy to change-
Messages (2022): How long has undo send been a feature in many email and messaging apps? Probably at least a decade for some. Oh and "mark unread" my God just think how long it's taken them to allow you to mark a text message thread as unread. That must have been harder than creating Swift because just look how long it's taken them to add this.
Grouped notifications (2018)
Ability to delete stock apps (2016)
App Library (2020): Consoles, Android, PC have had this from day one.
Raw Photos (2020)
Inline replies (2020): You mean people can actually reply to a specific message? That's not something you could've thought of a decade ago. Especially considering the billions of messages they tout iPhone users send monthly in their keynotes.
It really goes to show you how the lack of competition leads to so so little innovation. In one word.
iOS = complacency
