Considering jailbreaking

Ok so I have been thinking about jail breaking my iphone 4 running 5.1.1 the issue that I currently have is that my computer is dead and I dont have the money for a new battery. My question to this lovely community is can I use my roommates computer for the initial jailbreak and then do all the other customizations from my phone? If I can do this and I want to go back to non Jail broken for some crazy reason can I do that from my phone as well?

Tl;dr can I jailbreak my phone from roomies computer and then if need be restore it back to normal from phone?
