Hi. I teach English as a foriegn language in Japan. I'm planning on doing a series of lessons on cultures in my kindergarten class in the near future and thought this country would be easy and recognizable for the little ones.
The goal is to show them that the world offers much more than what is around them and I hope these lessons spark a little curiousity and wonder.
The presentation will be broken into four parts with an activity at the end. The parts are:
1. Introduction (The hook to draw them in)
A traditional song sung by an Italian artist. Visuals will be accompanied with the audio, so kudos if there's a live performance, music video or something iof that sort.
2. Eat
What foods would do you think represent your culture? What foods do you think are criminally underrepresented?
3. Play
Traditional games and sports that kids would be interested in.
4. Study
What is studied in primary school? What are some popular extracurricular activities?
Final Activity: Bocce Ball

WHAT FOODS, GAMES, SPORTS AND SCHOOL RELATED THINGS WOULD YOU INTRODUCE TO A 5 YEAR OLD JAPANESE KID?
