Where to start?

23 and want to get into entry level IT. I understand a basic level of PC and network hardware but none other than that.
Any cert courses I should take? Or if possible are there any entry level spots that do training?
I know it's gonna take awhile but I'm eager and motivated to learn. All comments appreciated
Edit: Also to those in IT, what do you do you look for most in applicants?
