Hey r/istanbul.

I'm a 21-year-old American from Wisconsin who will be studying at Boğaziçi University from August 2012 to May 2013. I've never been to Turkey, but can't even explain how excited I am to be moving to your beautiful city!

I'm looking forward to seeing the sights and love meeting new people, but I was wondering if you had any tips, however general or specific, the more the better! Where should I eat? What should I expect from Boğaziçi? From Istanbul? What should I look forward to/look to avoid at all costs?

I'm looking forward to hearing from you, and maybe even meeting some of you in Turkey!
