Post Body

I have four cameras in iSpy. I started with two, one a 2MP Jidetech bullet and a Tenvis WiFi I had for a long time. All was fine until I got a few more Jidetech cameras then have a bunch problems getting them to live together. The default IP is 192.168.1.18 so the first thing I do is change the IPs so that is not a conflict. So far so good.

But while all are being detected I get numerous errors trying to add them to iSpy. One that had worked for over a year no longer will work in iSpy at all, only viewable in IE with old ActiveX

Two of the four won't let me change settings any more ( that's a separate issue from iSpy)

But the point of this post is:

If I am using multiple cameras on network each with separate IP should I also change the ports on each so no two cameras use same port numbers?

ONVIF default is 8999 so what if on others I set to 8998,8996,8995

Same for RTSP ports.

Any idea if that would be on any value. ( aside from hackers searching for the default port numbers)

Your thoughts?

  1. BC1-2MP

  2. BC1-5MP

  3. Pi PLUS 5x 5MP
