IIN to be "afraid" of sex after a sexless relationship?

I'm a 25 year old male with a hell of a sexual mind, which is apparently pretty standard. The kicker is that I'm pretty much afraid to have sex with anybody ever since I've been out of my 7 year sexless relationship. I've been single now for 2 years and would obviously love a partner but know that intimacy for me would equal feelings as well. Is this normal? Obviously I'd love a partner but I think I'm scared of catching feelings and ending up back in a shitty relationship again.
