Claire Zamora has posted an exclusive look at a future secret scene from Drogo season 2.
This is what she had to say on Facebook (I used Google Translate so apologies if some of the sentences are incorrect):
La suite de notre "Ask me anything" avec une question de Jennifer Gleeson : "So, what inspired you to create the Mystery Spell universe? Did Twilight, Dracula, The Vampire Diaries, etc. serve as inspiration?"
I wanted to create a universe around vampires, a fantastic universe in parallel to a "realistic" universe. We're not looking for the same thing. Some love stories and others prefer stories more land to the ground. I had the concern to respond to all desires, to propose different experiences. The Vampire is a fantasy creature. Ideal for new romance. It's an inexhaustible source.
For me, the absolute reference of the genre is Dracula. I'm talking about the book of, not about the film by Coppola. The movie, he, offers something slightly different and highly erotic (I think it's the most erotic movie I've watched younger XD). In a way, he certainly influenced me. Although the vampire of is scary, he is the one who laid the basics of the modern and romantic vampire. Count Dracula is grown, he has spirit and good manners. A Monster hiding behind a beautiful facade.
Anne rice continued in her wake. Offering seductive vampires, carnal and, great novelty, vampires with contradictory feelings, empathy towards their victims. The Vampire is no longer just a killing machine, it is a cursed soul, tortured, which wanders between two worlds and sometimes, suffers from this condition.
It is this aspect that is the most interesting. Who makes his charm. We fear him but he fascinates us. He is immortal but vulnerable. It's exciting to imagine how we could react to immortality, to enhanced senses and to this insatiable thirst for blood. Personally, I think I'm going crazy.
Peter is the character who, in my universe, best wears this theme. He's the most philosopher. Drogo too, in a different kind. He expresses his distress in anger and impulsiveness. Nicolae, for him, is the most wise, the one who has learned to master his powers. In appearance, this said... So even if I had to imagine romance with these creatures, it was important to me not to erase their dangerous aspect. Don't make them "Vegan" vampires that hide from humans once the day is up XD
No allergic reactions to the sun, no more than garlic. And above all, there were several possible reactions to develop around the transformation of human into a vampire. This is what I did in mystery spell: some of them wish to mix with humans. Because they feed the illusion of a normal life, of a healthy presence in the world. Others prefer to take advantage of the power that gives them their condition on humans and all creatures on the planet. This is the case of the character of Viktor for example. And others are torn between the two. This eternal choice between good or evil. And since I didn't want a manichaean world, each of my characters is torn between the two. Because it's like that. We both have facets in us.
There is also Lorie's character. Ambiguous. For me, she's the most interesting character in the universe.
I asked myself this question: what could this condition lead to a young child's psyche?
(I wrote Lorie's past, he's pretty terrible. Maybe one day I'll share it to you or maybe it will be developed in a future story. ^_^)
And then, there are humans initiated and non-initiated. Those who know and decide to combine or who prefer to fight (Loan). Or, once again, who are torn between the two (Sarah, Sebastian,...) In all this, I had to imagine something that could bring all this little world together as well as my heroine. The University of mystery spell and the manor of the Bartholy were born this way. As well as the supernatural powers of the heroine, the witches and the shifters. Essential to give a counter-weight against vampires.
A new idea has sprouted. An alliance of the two worlds against a common enemy, a big villain. Because this is the only way to create links between contrasting characters.
There would be a lot to say ^_^ whatever it is, the character of the vampire fascinates. No doubt because he comes to touch in us this universal fear of death. You can find some very interesting books of psychoanalysis on the subject.
Now, just for you, I share an exclusive image of the season 2 of Drogo <3
