I can’t believe I need to write a post about this, but after nearly getting hit with a car not once but twice this past Friday, I felt the need to make a post about it. I’m sure there’s maniac drivers everywhere and we aren’t special in Irvine, but what I have witnessed since moving back here is that Irvine drivers are truly RECKLESS! Mind you, I see this all firsthand not from my own car, but from being on foot. The most troubling intersection to me where I see so much idiocy is the intersection of Irvine Spectrum Drive and Research (in front of the Los Olivos shopping center). I regularly see people run red lights at this intersection and the driving in this particular shopping center is atrocious. After almost losing my dad to a driver hitting him while he was walking in his neighborhood community (not in Irvine, but in another nearby OC city), I really implore everyone to be careful when on foot because Irvine drivers seem to not care about being cautious, decent drivers.
