St. Patrick’s day advice

Me and my girlfriend are looking to stay somewhere close to Dublin if not in Dublin for St Patrick’s day this year. We like to drink and would enjoy the crowds of Dublin but we are exploring going just outside of Dublin for a quieter experience but still with things to do. Any recommendations for places to stay or things to do in surrounding areas would be greatly appreciated. We are looking to spend around 800 dollars for housing from March 16th-19th.
