Can one be employed and still work as a freelancer on the side?

Post Body

Hi, as the title says, I'm curious if it is possible to do freelance work next to full time employment. I'm mainly wondering about the taxation that comes with it. Does anyone have any experience with that? How is it in Ireland?

Just to give context: I'll be moving there in about three weeks, and start working in September at my new job, I did think about some small freelancing gigs on the weekends, mainly illustrations, just to work up some savings after a pricey move.

Thank you!
