I dunno why this subreddit has an obsession with the Ford ranger, it's so odd... I've seen people call for separate licence categories and for them to be banned in the city, not only in the other thread, just randomly circle jerking in the comments. It really isn't that special of a vehicle;
Ford Ranger length 5362mm, width 1860mm.
Nissan Navara length 5330mm, width 1850mm.
Volkswagen Passat length 4775mm, width 1832mm.
3cm wider than a Passat, it is longer by 60cm to the Passat but only 2mm longer than a similar crewcab. Crewcabs are long and have been for decades and when I'm trying to get past someone on a backroad it's only the width I care about, extremely minimal traffic lengthening at the worst.
Emissions are at 178g/km in the most efficient model and 233g/km in the least. Not great in the age of hybrids but it's not 'rolling coal' either. Certainly better than the old mid-2000s land cruisers.
Weight is 200-300kg heavier than a mid size petrol car and about 400kg lighter than a mid size electric car.
It's a very unremarkable jeep, I know they seem massive cause they are tall, but they really aren't, you should be more annoyed at all the range rovers going about rather than utilitarian stuff. And I say this as someone who rides a motorcycle and drives a broken 2006 Volvo s40 1.6d. Better things to be whinging about lads.
