Hi, I bought a rare 5th gen ipod on version 6.0.1 and found that it wasn’t allowing my to sign into my apple ID, restricting me from downloading apps and using itunes, which really is a bummer.

I got a notification to update to version IOS 8.4.1 and am wondering if it only alters what is listed in the Learn More tab or if this will alter my display [i.e app icons and their interface when using them] I will also like to know if this will allow me to make a new apple ID or if it will keep restricting me, as this device is practically useless to me if I cannot download the old games i used to play. Please help, thanks.
