I was hiking and found a phone, how do I wipe it?

The date when I charged it said December 18th so it was lost during last ski season so the person has probably replaced it. I was gonna try and find whose it was but there’s probably no point. I’ve tried wiping it but whenever I hold all the buttons down it starts doing the emergency call thing. I think it’s an 8 maybe
