Event reminders popping up in lockscreen for Facebook events I haven't even accepted - FB is turned off in Notification Centre

Any ideas please? iPhone 4.0, not jailbroken, I haven't even accepted these events tentatively, and they don't show on my desktop iMac calendar either!
Can't see a setting to turn it off on FB desktop, but strangely they're not appearing on my iPad, just the iPhone.
This has just started in the last week (I haven't updated the phone software for a few months - will get to that this weekend).
