Need AppleCare if I have insurance through my carrier?

Post Body
I’m sure this has been asked many times before, but with getting my new iPhone, it made me wonder!
If I’m already paying for phone insurance through my carrier, T-Mobile, would it benefit me in anyway to add the AppleCare option that’s offered with new phones? Or would I just be wasting my money?
I’ve had an iPhone 20 years now and have never had it before, but was wondering if I’m missing out on something if having it or anything like that?
