Currently while note taking I'm noticing that sometimes the apple pencil will just not register at all. I've disconnected & reconnected on bluetooth, reset the hardware itself by shutting down and even confirmed that the app I'm using isn't the problem because I used the scribble feature, by Apple, which I was able to do when I first got this iPad but after noticing that the pencil wasn't registering on my app I tried on an Apple software and the problem still persists.
My iPad is fairly new as I purchased it on 04/21 (it's 05/09) so I ruled out the hardware being faulty as a possible reasoning. I contacted apple support and they were considering replacing the pencil for me but then I decided to clean the screen with a screen cleaner that I have and that seemingly resolved the problem. I believed I had fixed the issue but within a few minutes the pencil would once again stop registering when I tried to take notes. I believe if I clean the screen again it'll work but I would dread having to do that constantly, my iPad doesn't have a screen protector since I planned on getting it when I need it but now it seems like I might need it since the screen seems to attract more fingerprints & dust when there's no protector (I've tested with my iPhone and its screen protector). My roommate also told me that if I try to draw while my hand is slightly touching the screen then the software will think I'm trying to scroll down and not allow me to write but even when I completely lift my palm the apple pencil still doesn't register sometimes.
If the issue really is just the damn screen does anyone have any recommendations on types of protectors I should get, such as glass or plastic & types of glass/plastic protectors? Thank you guys so much for your answers in advance!!
