Storage question.

New to screen recording so wanted to ask for help. Just done a screen recording on my IPad and the recording is like 22 mins long. It’s taken up 12Gb of space and that seems a great amount to me?
The iPad is older so only has 32GB space and the IOS is taking up like 11GB.
The one screen recording has left me only 4.5Gb free space
