Why are there no charging cables for the smart connector?
Post Body

I would love to just plop my iPad onto a stand (just a generic stand), and wave a cable near the back, and have it snap to the smart connector and charge, without having to plug anything in repeatedly. Does anyone know why these don’t exist? I know there are (a few) stands that do it, and the Magic Keyboard does it, but is there a reason there isn’t simply a cable that does it? It seems like such a simple thing to do, or such an oversight for it to not exist. Is there any kind of official or unofficial reason?
