IPAD device unlock help

My mom has an iPad that is device locked from a third party second hand seller that she has no trace of years later and no receipt. Is there any way, if any, to get it unlocked or are we stuck with a bricked iPad at this point. I’ve tried all the initial trouble shooting, obvious searches, and it comes down to needing the original “owner” to remove the device. Thanks for any help
