FTL for ipad, worth $9.99?

FTL comes up a lot here and is highly recommended. The price point is a little high compared to other iOS titles. My threshold is normally $5. Also, its iPad only so that limits my gaming time. Is it worth double my threshold? Does it ever go on sale?
