Crashlands design dive - How we recaptured exploration in our enormous crafting game

Heyo!

Been awhile since we've popped on over here. Our current title, Crashlands (alpha trailer), is an action-RPG crafting title set in an infinite world. We finished alpha a few months back and have been making a suite of design changes which may be of interest for those who like crafting games (the likes of Terraria, Don't Starve, etc.) and enjoy them on mobile.

This design dive is all about Biomes - the three distinct land types of Crashlands - and how we accidentally butchered the sense of exploration past the 1st one, and recaptured it using the power of SPIDER MONKEYS.
