I wish the silent switch was reprogrammable

Remember the old iPads that had the silent switch, and it could be remapped to the lock orientation setting?
I just put my MagSafe wallet on expecting to hear that satisfying “ding” and forgot my phone was on silent, which I do every day for work. I wish the switch was remappable so I could turn silent mode on and off using automations instead, like you can do for the Apple Watch
