Hi,
I was building my app using socket.io and was really pleased with the way it all worked however during testing we had issues where devices were not automatically reconnecting when the app was restarted or after losing network connectivity so I ended up shifting over to Firebase.
Firebase is awesome but sometimes I do need a relational database so would prefer to be pushing data to the client with sockets.
I am about to move into another app build which will be very reliant on realtime updates and also needs to have an SQL backend so sockets is going to be very important, unless anyone else has any clever ideas :)
