When you venture out appreciate people that reach out to you and have some of the same interests. That does not mean befriend everyone you meet.
I'm a full on introvert but love going to concerts and have traveled to several countries outside the USA to see the bands I like. Even though I'm an introvert I've forced myself to open up to people I've met in situations I enjoy. I've made great lifelong friends and other people that I would have never made friends with otherwise.
I get it... that takes you out of your comfort zone. But in the long run it is worth it.
