Making Friend?

I have moved to a new place about half a year ago and I have a hard time talking to people. It was pretty much the same before and the only reason I had friends was because I went to school with them. I tried using apps to meet people but that didn't really work. I was hoping to get some advice but I'm currently ok by myself but it would be fun to have a reason to leave my house other than to work. Thank you
