Post Body

Hi all.

So I have been doing a post mortem on a failed attempt to get residency in Paraguay. Long story short had to renew my passport and had a snag with the photo being damaged but had a back up so no worries.

Then about a week ago I heard news that Paraguay has blocked off flights for tourists and are requiring residents to ..ahem... have a certain health status. Suffice to say I understand blocking off borders to an extent, but I worry they will force certain statuses on people. Putting aside your feelings on said statuses, it makes my stomach drop a bit as I feel like I can't trust any government, whether my own or foreign one. It will make it interesting as to what countries I would want to be part of a plan b or C but I digress.

As a result of this my plans were set back quite a bit as the only country being independent about this is Mexico, which has pros and cons but it seems like the pros don't outweigh the cons.

So after bitching for a day or two I got the idea to learn to fly and decided to research and it is a bit more affordable than I thought. So I plan to pay off some bills and finish up some money making projects before I do this but to me I felt a bit disingenious as I want to fly to avoid the kabukki theater at the airport and be able to at least fly around my part of the country fairly easily. I was going to get a foreign residence but since that is probably not in the cards I want to enjoy the best of what the US has to offer.

Has anyone made leaps away from their original plans due to plan c and ds falling through?
