I remember reading how the first few Paypal employees were really weird, like the majority of them liked to build bombs. While I never went that far, I did try to bluebox as a kid (remember seeing bluebox billboards up in Canada complaining about that when I tried there, but this was just about the time the iphone came out). In addition to that I liked to read about pirating (torrenting, roms, and ISOs) and offshore finance (like bearer bonds and CFDs) and I really found these things fascinating. I was reminded of this the other day when I scoured for some old books by WG Hill I had previously had. I could not find the Campione Report (which sounded fascinating, but I am not paying 99 bucks for outdated info).
It seems like outside maybe cybersecurity there are not many things that are too intricate or interesting. I know some of this is useless BS, but I really wish there was more things I could read or tinker with that were on the edge of society but that are not per say illegal.
