It Seems Like People Gloss Over the History of Why We Do What We Do.

Post Body

So I was recently watching a video by Robert Kiyosaki about doing well as a 20 something. Most of it was rehash, but I did not mind. What got me thinking was when he said gold was god's money. Now I am not religious, but I have tried to read up on Common Law and some have ascribed this as god's law. This got me thinking how the meaning of certain things have been watered down to the point we don't realize why we do them. An example of this was anything dead was taken into possession by the King, as he was a sacrificial lamb so to speak to defend is realm so he would take things like a dead tree into his possession if it was something that was dead (The Common Law, Holmes).

I also remember reading Jung and similar people like him and realizing things like the Bible are not as shallow as the Sunday morning service leads on. I still have skepticism of religion, but when I realize there is more to historical precedents and things we are taught in society, I get pissed off that it is not explained to us but instead is considered stuffy or "intellectual".

I know some of this can lead down the sovereign citizen rabbit hole, which even if topically valid, still faces the issue of might makes right. I just wish there was more information, but it seems like people are content with the current system and any meta information about anything else goes by the way side. Sorry if I seem to be brain barfing, but I am trying to externalize thoughts I have had, but don't have all the pieces to. It just seems like there is so much information from the past that has been lost due to neglect. I just want to understand how we got here and what systems work so we can build alternatives to the systems we have now (something I have been studying for my current project).
