So I just got news that a friend I am chummy with was accused of rape. Great. Second friend (both pretty intelligent) to have this happen to (and now the first guy is crushing on a girl that is trying to get off heroin). My other friends are in the mental hospital, on welfare, pothead (still enjoy hanging out with, but still), and the other went back to his home country.

Normies may be stable, but having nothing to talk about. Non-normies seemed like better bets, but now that most of us our hitting our mid 20s, many are a mess and outside one or two other cases I am doing the best among people I know and the others had to leave town just like me. Granted the one accused of stuff, the one in the mental hospital, and the one that went back home were in my new city, but still. It is hard to find smart friends, it is harder to find mastermind friends that don't get into trouble. The first friend that got into trouble was a genius, as was the second one, but now I can't make any serious plans. How do I find a good quality mix of friends?
