One thing I have wanted to do since I was in my late teens was move overseas. Even around 2009 I noticed subtle changes and knew that things won't change, regardless of who is in charge (assuming the 2 party duopoly continues). Before I went to college, I tried to do internet marketing and made $75 bucks before the Penguin and Panda updates happened. Long story short went to school and now have a middle class job and bought my own house. Long term I would like to rent it out, but I am not quite at the break even point with my house, so I will sit on it. I also trade, which I have done well on this year (I get it is an outlier but I have belief will have some good moments as well). I think after this I might test the waters in a few years in frontier markets and buy inexpensive properties for airbnb and if the first one goes well invest in that (25k vs hundreds of thousands on properties in the US).
Have you gained financial independence and/or been an overseas nomad? How did you get to that point and how did you get out of the system that seems like you need to go further into it before you can get out of it (being stuck in your home country).
