I think I may have posted here about automation at work and how HR was miffed but I saved time and created an efficient system and thus creates my own "position" on my resume. I have been doing this at my part time job too, but the difference is that the second part time job seems like they want me to point out efficiencies in processes, which then makes my boss look good and gives me experience in a certain areas, even though that is not my official job title. Further, with the second job, I was not really looking for it but my boss kinda squeezed it out of me (I was being quiet), but they were genuine and provided an environment where I felt safe to share. Have you ever reverse engineered a department in your favor or had your bosses facor without even really trying?
