Primaries are for earning delegates to take to the convention.
Biden/Harris won the majority of the delegates, Jason and Dean got 7 delegates, and Williamson and RFK Jr earned 0 delegates.
Biden released his delegates to vote for whoever they want, and endorsed Harris.
Her 'competition' decided to endorse her instead of running against her.
The delegates selected by the primary voted for her.
(the super delegates / party insiders didn't get a vote, unless the first round of voting failed to get a candidate with more than 50% of the vote)
Abe Lincoln was no one's first choice entering the convention - he didn't win until the 3rd round of voting.
